Twice each year, Workday releases major upgrades to its cloud-based human capital management, financial management, business planning, and student information software. The work is intended to improve functionality for users, while enhancing backend architecture and performance.

The next scheduled upgrade, called Workday 2022R1, will be Saturday, March 12th from 2:00 AM EST to 6:00 AM EST. During this time, Workday will be unavailable to all users worldwide.

General Display Name Format Change

Users will notice a change in the name display when logging into Workday following the March 12th update. The application will now show your “Preferred Name” rather than both your “Legal Name and Preferred Name” together. If you don’t have a preferred name registered with Workday, the system will default to your legal name.
